The Team
Jane Gilderson, the founder of Gilderson, Herbert & Long, graduated from Hull University in 1986 with a BSc in Maths. Following her training with BDO Binder Hamlyn in Leeds, she obtained her practising certificate with the ICAEW on 1 January 1994. Jane brings over 25 years of experience to the firm, specialising in complex accounts for various business structures, including sole traders, limited companies, partnerships, as well as bookkeeping, VAT returns, company tax returns, self-assessment tax returns, payroll services, company secretarial services, year-end accounts, and statutory filings.
Malane Ericson joined Gilderson, Herbert & Long in 2004 and has become an integral part of the team. Malane holds a Level 4 qualification from the Association of Accounting Technicians, obtained in 2009. Before entering the accounting field, Malane gained valuable experience in the banking sector for over 15 years, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the firm. Malane assists in a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts for sole traders, limited companies, partnerships, bookkeeping, VAT returns, company tax returns, and self-assessment tax returns.
Rachel Diaz, a seasoned accounting professional with nearly 20 years of experience, combines insights from both the public and private sectors. As a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, Rachel possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles. Her diverse career path includes roles as a company accountant in the farming and construction industries, followed by a decade in the public sector as a finance executive. Rachel's extensive experience allows her to adeptly manage a wide range of clients, encompassing limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
