Our Story

Severn Bookkeeping & Accountancy is a family-run business, founded by Phil Sweeney, a qualified accountant with over 21 years of experience in finance and accountancy. Phil's background includes training in business management and accounting systems. He has worked in the finance industry since leaving college in 1996, including employment in private and public sectors at all levels, including senior positions. He holds a GNVQ in Advanced Business and Finance, the AAT qualification, and is a chartered accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountants. Outside of work, Phil enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, badminton, and walking.

Our Services

At Severn Bookkeeping & Accountancy, we offer a range of services designed to simplify your financial management and help you make informed business decisions. Our services include:

• Regular Transactional Recording: We will prepare balance sheets and income statements from the source documents you provide. We will also reconcile your business bank account to ensure that all financial transactions have been recorded.
• Financial Statement Review: We will review your financial statements and analyse variations against the budget. We will then recast your financial projections for the next 12 months to allow you to have a financial plan to follow.
• Annual Statutory Returns: We will file your government returns (e.g., Tax, VAT, payroll) as well as any other statutory filings for which you are responsible.
• Unlimited Access to Advice on Ad hoc Matters: As an annual customer, you can call us at any time during office hours for advice on ad hoc financial matters without incurring additional charges.
• Bookkeeping First Aid: If you already have your own bookkeeping system but are struggling to keep on top of your financial records, we can assist you by offering advice and bringing your books up to date.
