Our Story

Founded by Chris Oakes, a qualified accountant with extensive experience in small business accounting, Oakes Accounting was established to provide a personalized and cost-effective alternative to traditional accounting firms. Chris' passion for accounting began at a young age, working in his father's accountancy practice during school holidays. This experience sparked a desire to pursue a career in accounting, leading Chris to study business and finance at Metropolitan College, followed by AAT accountancy qualifications at Sandwell Business College. His success in these exams allowed him to progress to the ACCA professional accountancy examinations at John Moores University in Liverpool.

After gaining valuable experience at Guild Appleton & Co., Chris joined KPMG Accountants in their Liverpool office, where he further developed his skills, including insolvency. This experience has equipped him with the knowledge and expertise to provide top-notch accounting services to small businesses.
